Met-Mex Peñoles is a large metallurgical and chemical company based in Torreón, Coahuila, Mexico. It processes most of the zinc and lead ore mined in Mexico and some other countries. The complex produces silver, gold, zinc, lead, cadmium and bismuth, as well as sulfuric acid, oleum and antimony trioxide. It is the world’s largest producer of silver, Latin America’s largest producer of zinc, and the leading producer of gold and lead in Mexico. The Peñoles Group includes more than just Met-Mex, with various mining, metallurgical, chemical and administrative units.
