Senthamarai (actor)
Senthamarai (actor) was an Indian actor known for his work in Tamil cinema and theatre. He was born on 13 April 1935 in Kanchipuram, in the Madras Presidency of British India. His father, Thiruvenkadam, died when Senthamarai was seven years old, and his family also included his mother Vedammal and brother Kamalakannan. Before he acted in films, he performed in many stage plays with stars like Sivaji Ganesan and M. G. Ramachandran.
He began his film career in 1957 with Mayabazar and went on to appear in numerous Tamil movies from the 1950s through the early 1990s. In the 1980s he was mostly seen in villainous roles, but he also played character parts opposite many leading actors of the time. Notable films in which he appeared include Thooral Ninnu Pochchu, Moondru Mugam, Malaiyoor Mambattiyan, and Thambikku Entha Ooru.
Senthamarai was married twice, first to Lakshmi and later to Kousalya Senthamarai, and he had four children. He passed away on 14 August 1992 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, from a heart attack. His last film, Dhuruva Natchathiram, was released in 1993 after his death.
