VTech PreComputer 2000 (also known as Genius Leader 2000/2000 Plus) is an early learning computer from 1992. It features a two-row by 20-column dot-matrix LCD display, a full-sized keyboard, and supports 1 or 2 players. It offers 34 activities across four levels and teaches basic programming with the BASIC language. It includes an 80,000-word spell checker and a SAT vocabulary builder. It can run on batteries or an AC adapter. It is the successor to the PreComputer 1000 and uses a Z80B-compatible processor. The system has 1 megabit (128 KB) of ROM that holds the operating system and programs, expandable by cartridges. Only one program can be stored in memory at a time. Cartridges for the PreComputer 1000 can be used, and there were also cartridges made specifically for the 2000. To use a cartridge, power off, insert the cartridge, then press the Cartridge button to activate it.
