Cryptaulaxella elegans is a single-celled organism in the kinetoplastid group. Classification: Domain Eukaryota; Clade Discoba; Phylum Euglenozoa; Class Kinetoplastea; Order Neobodonida; Family Neobodonidae; Genus Cryptaulaxella; Species C. elegans. The binomial name is Cryptaulaxella elegans, described by Larsen and Patterson in 1990. It was previously classified as a cryptomonad and is found in tropical marine sediments.
