The story follows investigative journalist Mort Whitman as he uncovers a major financial tale involving a multinational bank and a second-hand computer dealer named Kevin Jones. As Mort traces the days leading up to Kevin’s suspicious death, the narrative is shaped through Kevin’s closest friend Jimmy Blick and his girlfriend Ruby Elder. Mort wonders what dangerous secrets Kevin may have uncovered and whether powerful forces—private security, police, the SIS, or the CIA—were involved in his death, or if Kevin simply drank too much and crashed his car. Determined to uncover the truth, Mort pushes forward, risking his own safety in the process.
