Letters from a Black Widow
Letters from a Black Widow is the fifth studio album by American singer-songwriter Judith Hill. It was released on April 26, 2024, by Regime Music Group. The album runs about 51 minutes and has twelve tracks, including the singles “Runaway Train,” “Flame,” and “Dame de la Lumière.”
“Runaway Train” came out first on September 15, 2023, as the lead single. The other two singles followed on January 23, 2024, and March 5, 2024.
Judith Hill produced the album herself, following her 2021 release Baby, I’m Hollywood!. Critics describe the album as a powerful and personal work. AllMusic called it a cathartic, well-written and well-produced album that shows Hill’s growth and resilience. BroadwayWorld praised it as a strong, soul-filled exploration of discovery, resistance, and redemption, calling it Hill’s most intimate work to date. Guitar World highlighted its bold, guitar-driven energy. The New York Times viewed it as a concept album that confronts Hill’s past and the challenges she faced.
