The Canadian Science and Engineering Hall of Fame was at the Canada Science and Technology Museum in Ottawa. It honored Canadians who made outstanding contributions to science and engineering and promoted role models to inspire young people to study and work in science, engineering, and technology. The hall featured a permanent exhibition, a traveling exhibition, a virtual gallery, and events to celebrate inductees. It closed in 2017.

The hall was created in 1991 through a partnership of the Canada Science and Technology Museum, the National Research Council of Canada, Industry Canada, and the Association of Partners in Education to mark NRC’s 75th anniversary. It later became part of the museum’s permanent Innovation Canada exhibition.

Nominations were invited openly, and a selection committee reviewed them each year. Nominees had to meet specific criteria.

In April 2015, two selection-committee members, Judy Illes and Dr. Catherine Anderson, resigned because they were concerned that there were no female finalists for the second year in a row.

Inductees were named over the years.
