What I Do the Best is the fourth studio album by American country singer John Michael Montgomery. It was released on September 24, 1996, by Atlantic and produced by Csaba Petocz and Montgomery. The 35-minute album was recorded in 1996 at multiple studios in Nashville and other locations.

Four singles were released: Ain't Got Nothin' on Us (peaked at 15 on the Hot Country Songs chart), Friends (peaked at 2), I Miss You a Little (peaked at 6), and How Was I to Know (peaked at 2). None reached number one, making this the first Montgomery album not to produce a #1 hit. The album was certified platinum by the RIAA for selling one million copies in the United States.

The track Cloud 8 was later recorded by Canadian artist Gil Grand on his 1998 debut Famous First Words.
