Tommy Taylor (9 April 1903 – 14 November 1978) was an English footballer who played as an inside forward. He was born in Wavertree, England, and began as an amateur with Rhos in the Welsh National League, even playing for the Welsh League in a match at Chester. In 1926 he joined Manchester City but did not appear for their first team. In August 1927 he moved to Southampton in the Second Division. He made his Southampton debut on 24 September 1927 in a 2–2 draw with Grimsby Town, and he scored a goal in the following matches as he fought for a regular place. He scored again in a 6–1 defeat at Manchester City and then in a 2–1 win over Nottingham Forest. At the start of the 1928–29 season he played twice more and scored in both games, against Port Vale and Tottenham Hotspur. After that, he made only two more first-team appearances without scoring, and his contract with Southampton was terminated in November 1929. He was 5 ft 7 in tall and died in St Helens, Lancashire, at the age of 75.
