Altar (2014 film)
Altar, also known as The Haunting of Radcliffe House, is a 2014 British horror thriller written and directed by Nick Willing. It stars Olivia Williams, Matthew Modine, Antonia Clarke, and Adam Thomas Wright.
The story follows Meg Hamilton, a renovation expert, her husband Alec, and their children Penny and Harper as they move into a large manor on the Yorkshire Moors to restore it from a dilapidated B&B to its Victorian grandeur. After Meg loses her London team in an accident and then a local Yorkshire team refuses to continue because of superstition, she must carry on alone. They discover a secret attic room, a Rosicrucian mosaic, a bricked‑up cellar, and other strange events that suggest the house is haunted by its original Victorian owners who died 150 years ago. The family is forced to spend one last terrifying night under the roof.
The UK premiere was 27 December 2014 on Channel 5. It was released in the United States on 17 February 2015 by Cinedigm and Great Point Media. Running time is 95 minutes. Language is English. Country of origin: United Kingdom.
