Allium negianum
Allium negianum is a species of wild onion in the Allium genus. It was discovered in 2021 in India, in the western Himalayas. It grows in Uttarakhand’s Pithoragarh and Chamoli districts at elevations between 3,000 and 4,800 meters. The plant had been cultivated in the region for years before it was officially identified as a new species. The name honors Kuldeep Singh Negi, a collector of Allium specimens.
