Voice of Turkey
Voice of Türkiye (VOT) is the international radio service of Turkey's state broadcaster TRT (Turkish Radio and Television Corporation). It started in 1937. It is available online, on the Turksat 3A satellite, and on shortwave. Shortwave broadcasts come from a site near Emirler in Ankara Province. It runs 24 hours a day in 35 languages, for Turkish people and listeners worldwide. Its programs include news, music, education and culture. Transmissions historically began with a piano tune in the hicaz makam.
