Norway at the 2024 Winter Youth Olympics
Norway competed at the 2024 Winter Youth Olympics in Gangwon, South Korea, from January 19 to February 1. This was Norway’s fourth appearance at the Winter Youth Games, having taken part in every edition since 2012. The Norwegian team included 48 athletes across 9 sports. Opening ceremony flag bearers were luger Ola Brandstadmoen and biathlete Julie Kvelvane; the closing ceremony flag bearer had not been announced at the time.
Norway finished 23rd in the medal table with 0 gold, 4 silver and 3 bronze medals, for a total of 7 medals.
In biathlon, Norway qualified eight athletes (four men and four women) and also had a mixed team and a mixed doubles pair, for a total of six biathlon competitors.
In women’s ice hockey, Norway qualified a team of 18 players for a six-team tournament, with Isaac Palmgren serving as head coach, supported by assistant coaches and a goalkeeper coach.
The country also qualified one male luger and four ski jumpers (two men and two women). Norway had originally qualified six alpine skiers and six cross-country skiers but declined all of those quota spots, saying the events were not suitable for the development of their athletes.
