Tuapeijat
Tuapeijat is a town in North Sipora District of the Mentawai Islands Regency, West Sumatra, Indonesia. It is the administrative capital of the Mentawai Islands Regency. The town covers about 86.5 square kilometers and includes the main area on Sipora Island plus three small surrounding islands: Siburu, Silabok and Pototoga. The population was 4,344 at the 2010 census and about 6,642 in 2024, making Tuapeijat the largest town in the Mentawai Islands. The population density is roughly 77 people per square kilometer. The area uses Western Indonesia Time (UTC+7) and the postal code is 25392. Tuapeijat has a tropical rainforest climate with heavy to very heavy rainfall year-round.
