Joe Menzies
Arthur Briton “Joe” Menzies (13 May 1892 – 31 October 1960) was a New Zealand rugby league footballer who played in the 1920s. He was a prop and spent most of his club career with the Ngaruawahia Panthers from 1920 to 1932, with a brief one-game stint at Hamilton in 1920. In total, he played 27 club games, scoring 7 tries and 1 goal (23 points).
Menzies also played at representative level for Waikato from 1920 to 1932 (20 appearances, 2 tries, 3 goals) and represented New Zealand in 1926, including a test match against Wales. He also appeared for teams such as New Zealand XIII, Auckland Province, New Zealand (AKL Members), and the North Island.
Born on Norfolk Island, he passed away in Ngāruawāhia, New Zealand, on 31 October 1960, aged 68.
