Strings (2011 film)
Strings is a 2011 American dramatic thriller about a musician who discovers his therapist manipulates patients into committing crimes. It was created by Texas filmmakers Mark Dennis and Ben Foster. Dennis wrote and directed the film, while Foster produced and directed it. The cast includes Billy Harvey, Elle LaMont, Daniel Dasent, Chris Potter, Karl Anderson, Jack Lee, and Jon Wunsch. Cinematography by Mike Simpson, editing by Mark Dennis and Ben Foster, and music by Jermaine Stegall. The movie runs 98 minutes and is in English.
A low-budget project, Strings premiered on June 10, 2011 at the Breckenridge Film Festival. It won several festival awards in 2011–2012 and drew praise from one reviewer who compared it to Christopher Nolan. The film received DVD distribution from House Lights Media and digital distribution through The Orchard.
Awards include Best Director at the Long Island International Film Expo, Audience Awards at the Breckenridge Festival of Film and the White Sands International Film Festival, and Best Thriller at the Route 66 International Film Festival.
