Ready for Absolutely Nothing
Ready for Absolutely Nothing is a 2022 memoir by Susannah Constantine. She writes about becoming famous as an “It girl” in the 1980s and later working as a TV fashion presenter with Trinny Woodall on What Not to Wear. The book shares her meetings with Princess Diana and David Linley, as well as her relationship with Imran Khan. Constantine explains how her upbringing discouraged personal ambition and self-expression, which made early adulthood difficult. It describes her social life and her connections with famous people, and it talks honestly about her struggle with alcoholism, including a Cornwall incident that led her to seek help through Alcoholics Anonymous. The memoir offers a look at British high society and what it was like to live in it. It ends with reflections at age 60 on marriage, motherhood, and staying sober. The book was reviewed by The Times, The Guardian, and the Daily Telegraph.
