National University of the Arts (Universidad Nacional de las Artes, UNA) is a public university in Buenos Aires, Argentina that focuses on arts and research. Its roots go back to 1875 with the National Society of the Stimulus of the Arts. It became the National Academy of Fine Arts in 1905, then the National Superior School of the Arts (ESNA) in the 1920s, and later the Instituto Universitario Nacional del Arte (IUNA). In 1996 it was established as a national university under the Ministry of Education, and in 2014 it took its current name, UNA. The university brings together several national institutions devoted to fine arts, performing arts, and arts education. The rector is Sandra Torlucci. It has about 1,703 academic staff and 16,806 students. The campus is urban, located in Buenos Aires. UNA offers official national degrees at bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral levels across the arts and interdisciplinary fields. Website: una.edu.ar.
