Pancratium sickenbergeri

Content sourced from Wikipedia, licensed under CC BY-SA 3.0.

Pancratium sickenbergeri is a small desert flowering plant in the amaryllis family (Amaryllidaceae). It grows in desert areas of the Saharo-Arabian region, including the Negev, and is native to Israel, Egypt, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, and Syria. The flowers resemble those of the Mediterranean Pancratium maritimum, but sickenbergeri has curly leaves and a smaller overall size. Unusually for a desert plant, its seeds can be spread by floodwaters during winter rains.
