Brendan Croskerry
Brendan Croskerry, born July 24, 1985, is a Canadian singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Halifax, Nova Scotia. He grew up in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, and works in pop, acoustic, rock and country music, playing vocals, guitar and keyboards. He has been active in music since 2003.
From 2006 to 2011, Brendan lived in Europe after being spotted in Spain during a university exchange. He released two full-length albums there and was featured on popular Spanish compilations Disco Estrella and Supermodelo in 2007, both topping the charts for eight weeks.
Back in North America, he released his debut album Goodbye Harrier in 2008, produced by Paulino Lorenzo, Michel Andrés and Leroy Quintyn for the Spanish label Factoría Musical Contactados. He shared the stage with Quique González at the 2008 Actual Festival in Spain and played on the main stage at Popkomm in Germany.
In 2009, Brendan toured Germany for 12 shows with Paul Carrack. An instrumental version of "Radio Love Song" from the 2011 album Passing Trains was used in a Land Rover Freelander 2 commercial.
He returned to Canada in 2012 and joined Ossington Creative in Toronto as head composer and musical consultant. He performed at NXNE in 2013 and was named one of the Best of the Fest by Huffington Post Canada.
In May 2013, he became a communications special assistant to Toronto Mayor Rob Ford. He later left City Hall to return to music and released a free EP, Live from City Hall, produced by David Newfeld. Its video included behind-the-scenes footage from the mayor’s office after Ford was stripped of power in November 2013.
In 2015, Brendan moved to Los Angeles and started the Sunrise Sessions video series. He released the full-length XK on June 23, 2015, co-produced by David Newfeld.
