Manipayal, meaning Good Boy, is a 1973 Tamil film directed by A. Jagannathan in his first movie and produced by R. M. Veerappan. It stars Master Sekhar and Baby Indra, with A. V. M. Rajan, Jayanthi, V. K. Ramasamy and S. V. Subbaiah in supporting roles. The film was released on 14 January 1973 and runs for 149 minutes.

Plot: A cobbler is wrongly jailed for a crime. He must prove his innocence to live with dignity.

Behind the scenes: Jagannathan had previously worked with T. Prakash Rao and P. Neelakantan before his directorial debut with this film. Music is by M. S. Viswanathan. Jayachandran makes his Tamil singing debut in the song "Thangachimizh Pol."

Reception: Critics praised Dutt’s cinematography and Jagannathan’s direction. Kalki’s Kanthan called it an entertaining film in many aspects, and Navamani felt it resembled MGR films, praising the cast, dialogues, music and direction.
