Waukesha is a small village in Waukesha County, Wisconsin, United States. It sits next to the City of Waukesha. The village covers about 23 square miles, mostly land, with a tiny amount of water, and is about 873 feet above sea level.

As of 2020, about 8,457 people lived there. The area uses Central Time (UTC-6, UTC-5 in summer).

History in brief: The area began as Prairie Village in the Town of Muskego, later called Prairieville. When Waukesha County was formed, the area became part of the new county. In 1852, Prairieville separated from the Town of Waukesha and became the village of Waukesha (later the city). In 2020, the area known as the Town of Waukesha voted to become a village. The City of Waukesha challenged this move in court, but the village won.
