Kenneth McNeill
Kenneth McNeill, MD, MP, OJ (1918–2001) was a Jamaican surgeon and politician. He entered politics as a Senator in 1962 and later became a Member of Parliament. He represented East Central St. Andrew from 1969 to 1977 and Northwest St. Andrew from 1977 to 1980. He held several government roles, including Minister of Health (1972–1977), Minister of Public Service (1977–1980), and Minister of Parliamentary Affairs. In 1977 he was awarded the Order of Jamaica for his public service. He was the father of five children, including Wykeham McNeill, who is also a politician. McNeill died in 2001 at age 83 in Jamaica. His death drew tributes from leaders such as Prime Minister P. J. Patterson, who spoke of his family’s significant contributions to the country.
