Caerphilly Athletic F.C.
Caerphilly Athletic Football Club, nicknamed The A’s or CAFC, is a Welsh football club from Caerphilly. They currently play in the Ardal South East, the third tier of Welsh football. Their home ground is the Centre of Sporting Excellence in Ystrad Mynach. The club’s chairman is Chris Parry and the manager is Ian Butterworth. In the 2024–25 season they finished second in the South Wales Premier League Premier Division and were promoted. In 2025 they were promoted to the Ardal South East. They have competed in the Welsh Cup, reaching the second round in 2017–18, where they lost to Penrhyncoch.
History:
The club started in 2007 as Dynamo Aber, playing in Sunday leagues and five-a-side competitions. They later joined the Taff Ely & Rhymney Valley Alliance League and won it in 2013–14, earning promotion to the South Wales Amateur League. In 2015 the league became the South Wales Alliance League, and in 2016 they were promoted to Division One. In 2017 they renamed to Caerphilly Athletic.
