Eva Piquer
Eva Piquer i Vinent (born May 30, 1969, in Barcelona) is a Catalan writer and journalist. She is the director and editor-in-chief of the cultural magazine Catorze. She has worked as a correspondent in New York (1992–1994) and taught journalism at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (1994–2001).
She won the Atlàntida prize in 2006 for the best Catalan-language columnist. Piquer spent many years at Avui as deputy head of culture and coordinator of its cultural supplement (1988–2010) and has written culture, politics and society pieces for Ara and other outlets such as La Vanguardia, El Periódico and Time Out Barcelona. She also collaborated with Catalunya Ràdio from 1992 to 2022. In 2014 she created Catorze, an online cultural publication that won the LletrA Award in 2015 and the National Prize for Culture in 2018. As literary director of the Thassalia publishing house (1995–1997), she published books by authors like Kate Atkinson, Rachel Cusk and Kingsley Amis. She was part of the Germanes Quintana collective.
