Peter Onu
Peter Onu (29 April 1931 – 17 January 1997) was a Nigerian diplomat and philanthropist. He rose to the rank of Ambassador while serving as Assistant Secretary-General of the Organisation of African Unity (OAU). He also served as the political officer at the Nigerian Embassy in Moscow. Between 1983 and 1985, he was the Acting Secretary-General of the OAU, succeeding Edem Kodjo. He studied at the University of Nigeria, Nsuka. He built a law library in Lagos State and, until his death, advised several of Nigeria's military heads of state.
