1975 Brisbane Rugby League season

The 1975 season was the 67th Brisbane Rugby League premiership. Eight teams from Brisbane competed, playing each other three times for a total of 21 rounds. The top five were Western Suburbs, Northern Suburbs, Redcliffe, Eastern Suburbs and Wynnum-Manly. Western Suburbs were the minor premiers and went on to win the premiership.

Player of the year was Steve Calder of Northern Suburbs (Rothmans Medal). Top try-scorer was Wayne Bennett.

Grand final
Western Suburbs 26 defeated Redcliffe 24. Western Suburbs’ tries came from H. Cameron, R. Bradshaw, G. McCarthy and G. Heading, with a goal by W. Stewart. Redcliffe’s tries were by T. Obst, I. Pearce, G. Russell and B. Bleakley, with I. Pearce kicking 6 goals. With seconds remaining, Redcliffe were trailing and launched a bomb, but fans filled Lang Park and the ball went into touch, ending the final play. Western Suburbs claimed their first premiership in 21 years (since 1954).
