Cihan University (Erbil) is an English-speaking university in Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region in Iraq. It was founded in 2007 by the A University Company for Scientific Investment, part of the Cihan Group, and is the first private university in the Kurdistan Region. The university is accredited by the Kurdistan Region’s Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and is a member of the Association of Arab Universities Union. It operates three campuses—Erbil, Sulaymaniyah, and Duhok—and serves about 18,000 undergraduate students.

In 2014, Cihan offered programs in 12 departments. A Sulaymaniyah campus was approved in 2011 by the Kurdish Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. In 2017, the Erbil campus received full accreditation from the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
