Chris Arrowsmith
Chris Arrowsmith (Christopher James Arrowsmith) was born on 9 November 1966 at the Royal Naval Hospital Imtarfa in Rabat, Malta. He is a British slalom canoeist who competed from the late 1970s to the early 1990s. Arrowsmith finished 17th in the C-2 event at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona. He currently lives in Stratford-upon-Avon and worked as a computer technician in 1992.
He started canoeing at age 9 after a "Try it" session in Dorking, Surrey, and began competitive canoeing in June 1978 at Shepperton Weir on the River Thames. He was part of Stratford on Avon Kayakists (SOAK). He competed across many canoe disciplines, including slalom in K1, C1 and C2, canoe polo, wild-water racing, sprint and marathon. In slalom, he notably partnered with Paul Brain in C2, and also competed in C1 and K1 events.
