Columelliaceae
Columelliaceae is a small family of trees and shrubs native to the Andes of South America. It includes two genera: Columellia and Desfontainia. In modern plant classification, Columelliaceae is placed in the order Bruniales, within the asterids group of flowering plants. Its exact placement has varied: APG II put it in Lamiales, but a 2008 study suggested it is sister to the Bruniaceae, and the Angiosperm Phylogeny Website proposed grouping Bruniaceae and Columelliaceae in Bruniales. The APG III system (2009) places Columelliaceae in Bruniales.
