Bihar State Electronics Development Corporation
Bihar State Electronics Development Corporation Ltd. (BELTRON) is a statutory government body and the executive wing of the Bihar IT Department, created in 2010. Based in Patna, it serves the state of Bihar, promoting electronics hardware manufacturing and the IT industry while providing high-quality IT consultancy to government departments. BELTRON also handles recruitment for state departments when requested, conducting exams for posts such as Data Entry Operator, Stenographer, and Programmer.
Key activities include providing free Wi‑Fi in more than 300 colleges and nine universities in 2016, and developing the Home Isolation Tracking (HIT) app in 2021 to monitor COVID-19 patients at home. It supported IT work for the 2023 Bihar caste-based survey and hired Trigyn Technologies to develop the Bijaga app (Bihar Jaati Adharit Ganana), available on Google Play with data hosted on the cloud.
