Ben Humble
Benjamin Hutchison Humble MBE (1903–1977) was a Scottish writer, climber, photographer and filmmaker. He helped create the Scottish Mountain Rescue teams used today and made educational films during World War II. Born in Dumbarton, he was the son of the Dennystown Forge manager. Despite being totally deaf, he became a dentist and later helped advance forensic dentistry. His life is described in The Voice of the Hills: The Story of Ben Humble by his nephew Roy Humble (1995).
