The blind mole, Talpa caeca, also called the Mediterranean mole, is a small mammal found around the Mediterranean region. It resembles the European mole but has eyes covered by skin. It lives in Albania, France, Greece, Italy, Monaco, Montenegro, San Marino, Serbia, Slovenia, Switzerland, and Turkey. It mainly eats small animals such as insects and worms. Adults grow up to about 12 cm long. Its conservation status is Least Concern.
