Michel (footballer, born 2002)
Michel Américo dos Santos, known as Michel, is a Brazilian goalkeeper born on 10 April 2002 in Piracicaba. He is 1.96 m tall and plays for DPMM FC in the Malaysia Super League on loan from EC Taubaté.
Career summary: Michel came through the youth system at XV de Piracicaba (2020–2023). He then joined Grêmio Desportivo São-Carlense for first‑team football, making a few appearances in Série A4 in 2024. He moved to Thiruvananthapuram Kombans FC in India’s Super League Kerala in 2024, where he was the starting goalkeeper and played in their first match on 10 September 2024, a 1–1 draw with Calicut FC. Kombans reached the playoffs but were beaten 2–1 by Calicut in the semi-finals.
In early 2025 Michel returned to Brazil with Operário-VG, mostly serving as a bench option. In June 2025 he joined EC Taubaté for the Copa Paulista. His performances there drew the attention of DPMM FC manager Ali Momin, who arranged a six-month loan on 5 August 2025 to play in Brunei’s team in the Malaysia Super League.
Michel made his Malaysia Super League debut for DPMM on 2 November 2025 in a 2–2 home draw against Negeri Sembilan. As of 24 November 2025, he had 2 league appearances for DPMM.
