2018–19 Akron Zips men's basketball team

The 2018–19 Akron Zips men’s basketball team represented the University of Akron in the NCAA Division I season. Led by second-year head coach John Groce, they played home games at James A. Rhodes Arena and competed in the East Division of the Mid-American Conference (MAC). The coaching staff also included associate head coach Dustin Ford and assistants Rob Fulford and Robby Pridgen.

They finished with a 17–16 overall record and went 8–10 in MAC play, placing fourth in the East Division. In the MAC tournament, Akron defeated Miami (OH) in the first round but lost to Buffalo in the quarterfinals.

In the previous season, 2017–18, Akron went 14–18 overall and 6–12 in MAC play, finishing last in the East Division. They beat Western Michigan in the MAC tournament first round before losing to Eastern Michigan in the quarterfinals. Akron did not have a recruiting class in 2018.
