Siren Song (book)
Siren Song: Understanding Pakistan Through its Women Singers is a book by English scholar Fawzia Afzal-Khan. Written in English, it blends music history with social and feminist history. Published by Oxford University Press on August 25, 2020, in England, the book looks at the lives of Pakistan’s female singers and what their work reveals about society. Starting with the 1947 Partition of India, it shows how music and women's roles have shaped politics and culture in Pakistan.
