It is located at 162 Kabar Aye Pagoda Road and serves about 4,000 students in grades 6 through 11. The principal is Dr. Ball Ma Lwin, who has led the school since 2018.
Historically, it was Nanyang High School, one of Myanmar’s elite Chinese secondary schools. It was nationalized in 1963 during Ne Win’s government and became BEHS No. 2 Bahan. Today it remains a major public high school in Yangon, with a high student-to-teacher ratio common to the city’s schools.
