- Aircraft: 20 F-16D+ (Block 52+) Fighting Falcons with Conformal Fuel Tanks and upgraded radar and targeting pod
- Base: Tengah Air Base (currently), due to Changi Airport Terminal 5 construction; previously based at Changi Air Base East since 2004

- Mascot/logo: Hornet; tail features a hornet emblem
History
- Formed on 1 April 1984 at Tengah Air Base
- Originally flew A-4 Skyhawk and later A-4SU Super Skyhawk
- 142 Squadron disbanded; 145 Squadron retained to operate the upgraded F-16Ds
- Won Best Fighter Squadron awards in 1998, 2000, 2012, and 2014
New role
- The 20 F-16D+ aircraft are advanced versions with better range and precision
- Capable of precision day and night operations at longer ranges
- All aircraft are tandem-seat, with a Pilot and Weapons Systems Officer (WSO) on every mission
- This arrangement continued until the arrival of F-15SG in other squadrons (142 and 149)
Information
- The squadron’s tail carries a toned-down logo with its serial number; it is the RSAF’s only fighter squadron with an insect mascot
