X-Faktor Series 9 (Hungary)

X-Faktor is a Hungarian TV music competition to find new singing talent. The ninth series aired on RTL Klub in 2019. Ramóna Kiss hosted the show. The judging panel included ByeAlex, Laci Gáspár and Peti Puskás, with Bogi Dallos joining after Gigi Radics left.

Winner and runner-up: Tibor Ruszó won the competition in the boys category, and Andor Vanek was the runner-up. The winning mentor was ByeAlex.

Air dates and auditions: The season ran from 5 October to 14 December 2019. Open auditions were held in Budapest in March 2019, and the judges’ auditions started in July 2019.

Format: This season had no guest speakers. Each mentor listened to performances in all four categories and automatically brought two contestants to the live shows. The remaining contestants were assigned to other mentors, who chose the third finalist.

Live shows and eliminations: A chair system was used. In the early rounds there were four chairs, then three, then two. If chairs were full and another contestant performed, the contestant with the lowest public vote would lose a chair after the judges’ votes. In Week 4, a tie between judges could be broken by the public vote. Twelve acts were eliminated before the live shows.
