Nu1 Columbae
Nu1 Columbae is a star in the southern constellation Columba. It is faintly visible to the naked eye with an apparent magnitude of 6.14. Based on a parallax of 25.40 mas, it is about 128 light-years away (39 parsecs). The star is classified as an F0 IV subgiant, meaning it is a hotter, evolved star. It has about 1.41 solar masses and shines with roughly 4.3 times the Sun’s luminosity. Its surface temperature is about 7,079 K. Nu1 Columbae is around 641 million years old. It rotates quickly, with a projected rotational velocity of 161 km/s. Its metallicity is slightly lower than the Sun, [Fe/H] ≈ −0.22. The absolute magnitude is +3.18. The star moves through space with a radial velocity of about 26.7 km/s and has proper motion of +18.24 mas/yr in right ascension and −57.61 mas/yr in declination. Other designations include HD 37430 and HIP 26412.
