Wingspan is a jazz studio album by pianist Mulgrew Miller, released in 1987 on Landmark Records. It was recorded on May 11, 1987 at ERAS Studio in New York City. The album features a quintet with Mulgrew Miller on piano, Charnett Moffett on bass, Tony Reedus on drums, Steve Nelson on vibraphone, and Kenny Garrett on alto saxophone (who also plays flute on one track). Percussionist Rudy Bird guests on three tracks. Five of the seven tracks are composed by Miller; the other two are Kenny Garrett's Sonhos Do Brasil and the standard I Remember You. The performances showcase inventive solos and strong ensemble work with a polished sound. The album was produced by Orrin Keepnews. Wingspan sits between Work!
