Wathod Reservoir
Wathod Reservoir is in Manora town, Washim district, Maharashtra, India. It sits about 5.9 km north of Manora. The dam is 290 meters long and 16.6 meters high, with a maximum capacity of 1.98 million cubic meters and live storage of 1.7 million cubic meters. Wathod Lake nearby is a tourist spot with various plants and animals. The water is turbid during the rainy season and clearer in summer. In 2014, scientists found the reservoir’s physical and chemical properties to be safe for drinking water. The reservoir was built in 1974 as part of Maharashtra’s irrigation projects.
