Felix Laband

Felix Laband is a South African electronic musician and producer from Pietermaritzburg. Born Felix Johny Paul Laband, he creates light, emotional, minimalist music that blends IDM, glitch and downtempo with samples from classical music, jazz, and old television shows, layered with his own performances and those of guest artists. His sound is often called indietronica and has been compared to Boards of Canada and Iceland’s múm. He released his first two albums on African Dope Records. In 2005 he joined Open Record, and his international release Dark Days Exit came out on Compost Records.
