Salt River Township is one of ten townships in Adair County, Missouri. It covers about 56.1 square miles (145 square kilometers), almost all land, and sits at about 873 feet (266 meters) above sea level. The population was 1,043 at the 2010 census, with a density of about 19 people per square mile.

The township includes one incorporated town, Brashear, and two cemeteries (Brashear and Paultown). Several streams flow through the area, including Battle Creek, Brushy Fork, Hog Branch, Lost Creek, Steer Creek, and Timber Branch. The name Salt River Township comes from one of its main streams.
