The Cowboy Captain of the Cutty Sark is a 1998 Scrooge McDuck comic by Don Rosa. The story is part of The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck, placed between The Buckaroo of the Badlands and Raider of the Copper Hill (3B).

Publication history:
- First published in Denmark in Anders And & Co. issues 1998-52 and 1998-53.
- The first American publication appeared in Uncle Scrooge #318 (February 1999).

Setting and plot:
- The story takes place in August 1883.
- Scrooge exports cattle from Montana to Indonesia, but a thief steals from him.
- He reunites with his old friend Ratchet Gearloose from his Riverboat days.
- They embark on a dramatic voyage aboard the clipper ship Cutty Sark on August 26, 1883.
- Krakatoa erupts violently, triggering a deadly sequence of events: a pyroclastic flow, a tsunami, and falling pumice. Scrooge and Gearloose survive the disaster.

Historical note:
- The story shows the Sultan of Djokja as Mangkunagara V, but the ruler at that time was actually Hamengkubuwono VII. This error came from Rosa’s source, an 1890s travel story titled On The Subject of Java.
