James Leslie Wanklyn
James Leslie Wanklyn (14 April 1860 – 6 July 1919) was a Liberal Unionist politician who served as the Member of Parliament for Bradford Central from 1895 to 1906. He was born in Holdenhurst, Hampshire, to James Hibbert Wanklyn and Elizabeth (née Leslie).
Wanklyn won his seat in the 1895 general election and was re-elected in 1900, but he did not stand in the 1906 election. He had several sporting interests: he was a member of the Marylebone Cricket Club and played one first-class cricket match in 1885, and he was an early member of the Ranelagh Club from its founding in 1894, a center for polo and golf.
In August 1898, he married Laura Mary Stapylton (her first husband, Huntly Bacon, had died in 1897). Wanklyn died on 6 July 1919 in Northampton at the age of 59.
