The supi is a traditional war club from the Solomon Islands. Made from ironwood, it has a distinctive diamond-shaped head that is specific to the region. The club is about 30 centimeters long and features a carved head with pronounced ribs and a strong striking edge. It comes from Malaita Island and is also known as supe or subi. Some supis were carved from whale bone. The handle is wrapped in coconut-fiber braiding and may be carved or inlaid with shells. Some versions, carved with a crocodile face at the end, were reserved for chiefs.
