Improvisations for Cello and Guitar
Improvisations for Cello and Guitar is a free improvisation album by Dave Holland (cellist) and Derek Bailey (guitarist). It was recorded in January 1971 at the Little Theatre Club in London and released in October 1971 on ECM. The 38-minute, 28-second record features all tracks credited to both artists and was Holland’s third release for ECM. Critics view it as a dark, resonant work; AllMusic gave it 3 stars, and Todd S. Jenkins called it "a dark resonant masterwork."
