Scott Burgess (actor)
Scott Burgess (14 July 1958 – 6 May 2016) was an Australian actor best known for his role as Senior Sergeant Dave McCall in the TV series Water Rats from 1996 to 1999. His first screen part was in the film Dead Easy, followed by a break with the World War I miniseries 1915. He also appeared in The Great Bookie Robbery, The Dirtwater Dynasty and Inside Running, before taking the lead as Bill Peterson in Above the Law. Burgess returned to TV for four episodes of Underbelly: A Tale of Two Cities in 2009. In 2008, he revealed that a marital break-up shortened his acting career, and he worked in a boat yard for minimum-wage pay. He was married to Tracy Jones and had four children: Nadia, Ella, Lily and Zac. His son Zac Burgess is also an actor, known for Boy Swallows Universe. Burgess died in 2016 at age 57 after a heart attack.
