Palazzo Dandolo Paolucci
Palazzo Dandolo Paolucci
Palazzo Dandolo Paolucci is a Renaissance palace in Venice. It sits in the San Polo district along the Grand Canal, near Palazzo Dolfin and Palazzo Civran Grimani.
The palace was built in the 17th century on the site of a Gothic building from the 14th century and has been remodeled many times. A large terrace with a balustrade was added in 1924.
The name Dandolo comes from a historic dogal family. In the 18th century the palace belonged to the Paolucci family.
The building has four floors, with two noble floors in the middle. The windows include four-light openings (quadrifora) shifted slightly to the right and flanked by pairs of single-light windows. The ground floor has two water portals, indicating it was used by two households. A modern terrace sits on the top floor above the eaves.
